Download sites

One thing that’s really starting to do my head in is download sites where you’re trying to get software (AVG Free, that sort of thing) and there are adverts with bigger “DOWNLOAD NOW” buttons than for the software you want in a clear attempt to get you to download something that, at best, you don’t want and at worst could do serious damage to your system.

Everyone’s moans about how malware and virus writers get you to get there stuff and e-mail phishing attacks but the big download sites (CNET amongst them) are just as bad.

I’ve not got time to give examples at the moment but it’s something I intend to look at more.
