Piss on the sparkplug
So, the day after I talk about my computing history, Film4 show “Wargames”, which I’m scared to find out was released in 1983.
You’d expect a film like this to have aged badly, in certain respects it has but in others, things haven’t moved on at all.
At some point, somewhere on the net, somebody has left a rather large door open for someone to get in. It’s not likely to be at government level, it’s not even likely at a large business level but I’m waiting the day someone, somewhere has done something stupid and drops one, big time.
Of course, someone managed to hack into Sarah Pallin’s Yahoo account, though that was Yahoo’s fault rather than (hopefully) the next loosing VP candidate for American president, this is one scary woman. How scary? She uses Yahoo as her primary e-mail account for crying out loud.
Anyway, back to Wargames, it’s still a great film, not as scary as it was 25 (gulp!) years ago but it’s still great fun to watch and I recommend you try and watch it, especially if you saw it first time around.
